Manager's Note
Dear Customer
Once again "Thank You" to everyone for keeping Fern at the top of the COADE worldwide sales ladder. Fern sales have continued to strengthen, even against the backdrop of uncertainty regarding the current economic climate.
Below you will see that a maintenance release of AFT Fathom 7.0 was issued on November 2, 2009. We are here to help, so if you need assistance, please contact us.
We have had a number of requests asking if we can set a CADWorx Workshop/Seminar. We would welcome your feedback/ideas regarding your preferred format and content. Initial indications are that a centrally located venue would suffice, however we wish to determine if users more than two hours from Fern would be able to attend. Please let me have your feedback
Our web site has been updated with the 2010 training schedule, please review this to determine your needs for the New Year.
Until next month,
Best wishes
Paul Howard

Benefits of Integration
COADE's CEO Tom Van Laan and his team show how you can realise the efficiencies to be found with true plant design and engineering collaboration, via product integration. All in just 20 min!

You can see below how Instituto Mexicano del Petroleo adopted this strategy and benefited.
Instituto Mexicano del Petroleo
Learn how CADWorx Plant Professional and CAESAR II helped IMP successfully complete one of Mexico's largest and most challenging refurbishment projects.
In the past, IMP used a 3D modelling package that was expensive and did not allow for the transfer of information between the 3D CAD model and pipe stress analysis.

Hints & Tips
ISOGEN Specification Change Text Box
This appears on ISOGEN isometrics wherever there is a component of one specification connected directly onto a component of a different specification, but can be suppressed.
To achieve this:
- open the Project Manager
- select the required ISOGEN Style
- go to the Drawing Control tab
- highlight the Alternative Text section and click Edit
- click on the Group menu
- choose Specification Change and then
- delete the word SPEC in the top left text box, labelled Specification Change Indicator – Piping Spec.
Now when producing ISOGEN isometrics that contain different specifications, there will not be any text boxes at the location of the specification change which indicate the different specifications.
ISOGEN Information Displayed
It is possible to modify what is displayed on ISOGEN isometrics regarding any CADWorx Pipe Supports.
To do this:
- open the Project Manager
- select the required ISOGEN style
- go to the Drawing Control tab
- highlight the Options file section and click Edit.
- Go to the Page 2 of the Iso Content tab
- change Option Switch 64 on the bottom right, labelled PIPE SUPPORT IDENTIFICATION by choosing the required option from the drop down list.
AFT Fathom
A few reminders:
- You can create a liquid mixture in the system properties window using the Chempak database.
- The Scenario Manager allows you to keep all of your design cases together in a single file where scenario children inherit changes.
- If you want certain sections of the model to be renumbered in sequence, then use the renumber feature on the selected sections only.
