Fern

As previously advised, as of 31st December 2010 Intergraph terminated Fern's Global Network Partner status for ICAS (Intergraph CADWorx and Analysis Solutions - formerly COADE) products.  Having lost 90% of its business overnight Fern was not able to sustain its operations and is now closing its offices.  Email or land mail both still operate.

Several personnel changes have taken place at ICAS, but during the last week of July 2011, Tom van Laan, formerly President of COADE and who for many years has been instrumental in the development of CAESAR II, left ICAS.  We hope that a person approaching his stature will take up the role.  We wish Tom a very enjoyable and busy retirement.

All ICAS related contracts were formally transferred to Intergraph UK as of 1st March 2011 and support queries should now be directed to Intergraph.  As part of this, Intergraph secured the employment of all Fern's support staff (under TUPE regulations) along with the sales staff. If you have any queries relating to your historic contracts then they should be easily resolved; ICAS has been paid all monies for all contracts so all support should be in place as long as you signed the novation of the contract to Intergraph. If you simply need the new process for receiving updates/support then contact Kit Ellis on +44 (0)1332 250005.

On August 1st, ECAD Inc, the ICAS Global Partner that has sold more CADWorx than any other ICAS Global Partner, terminated their sales of ICAS product and aligned to Autodesk and their Plant 3D product.  Fern and ECAD always competed for the COADE Worldwide "Top Seller" status, with a broadly 50/50 score over the last 12 years, so Fern has a great respect for ECAD and its people. Accordingly Fern wishes ECAD the very best for the future.

Meanwhile EDS Asia, the former GNP for that region, have advised us that they too have terminated their position with ICAS.

Finally on the ICAS aspects, we are told that Autodesk has cancelled the Autodesk Developer Network authorisation of ICAS and indeed we can no longer see the company listed on the Autodesk Partner/Products listings. We hope that this will not affect development cycles as this could be disadvantageous to all those who purchased CADWorx from us in the expectation (as we had) that development in a timely manner was assured.  We hope our concerns will prove unfounded.

Service on AFT products was transferred to AFT as of 11th March 2011.  The contact here is TomGlassen P.E., VP Operations, Applied Flow Technology Corporation, 2955 Professional Place, Suite 301, Colorado Springs, CO 80904, Tel: 719-686-1000.

Service on PRG product is already delivered by PRG so there is no formal change here.
